LimeCrime Velvetines Liquid Lipstick Review and Swatches Teddy Bear and 2 Moods Duo

My very first liquid lipstick - LimeCrime Velvetines.

Highly controversial, these are still acclaimed to have an amazing formula and so I decided to get "Teddy Bear" and the 2 Moods Duo set with "Wicked", a dark purple, and "Marshmallow" A soft pink.

As my first liquid lipstick I expected something like a lipgloss. It had a wand like one, but apply very carefully and it dries down to a matte. It adheres to the lip strongly and if you rub it off dry, it pills up.

I have not experienced any tightness or dryness, I can forget it's there but if I smack my lips or touch them, I can definitely feel it. It does not wear away easily unless eating oily food (duh) and removing is doable with micellar water instead of oil.

It covers dry patches well (if you follow me, you know I always have flakey lips!) and doesn't accentuate them. But I would recommend an exfoliate and balm before hand.

Now onto the colors!

"Teddy Bear"

Teddy Bear is a described by Limecrime as " lilac brown hue".
It seems like a matte brownish red, it's indescribable and I love it. It's not too dark and vampy on my skin, but it's not my lip color either. It's very flattering and I just happen to love every photo of me in it!

Wicked is a deep purple color that comes in the "2 Moods Duo" Pack.

LimeCrime describes it as "Raven - the darkest color ever made without being black"

I agree, I love this color! It's dark and bold without being black. It makes it a little unexpected and interesting. Perfect for my Luna inspired makeup day.

If you look closely, you can see I didn't apply it evenly. You can see a little streaking, but that maybe my fault. I tend to mess up my lip line (I have uneven lips) and have to go over and over sections, which can wear away a long last lipstick which dries down.

It does not budge, I can never go back to wearing dark lips with regular lipstick! How can I go back to worrying about whether the lipstick has traveled outside my lipline?

I'm sorry that I don't have a photo of Marshmallow on me, but I don't particularly care of it on my skin. It's a little too light but not light enough to look on purpose on my somewhat tan skin.

I find that it washes me out and I just haven't done a makeup look where I liked it, I always try and then end up taking it off.

Don't get me wrong, I love bright lipsticks on darker skin tones like white lipsticks, yellows, bright purples etc. but this one just doesn't seem flattering on me.

Have you tried Limecrime's Velvetines? What did you think?

Do you have a color that I absolutely must get?! Let me know!
